Dance Master, Teaching New Adult Ballet Classes at Etobicoke School

Dance Master, Mr. Matthew Foesier is introducing a new course in Classical Ballet Level One especially for older teens and young adults at The Dance Place Etobicoke. Maybe you attended ballet classes as a young child or it has always been a dream of yours, to experience the joy and beauty of this most graceful art.

Come out and join Matthew’s first class, free of charge 7:00 - 8:00 PM, Thursday, November 24, 2011 at 48 Fieldway Rd. Registration will take place for 30 minutes following the class for a ten week semester. Please call in advance to reserve your place.

BALLET

Instructor: Matthew Foesier
A graduate of Canada’s National Ballet School’s full-time professional training and academic program. Matthew continued post graduate studies in Bellville, Ontario where he danced with the Quinte Ballet. He later returned to the National Ballet School to continue studies in the teachers training program. He has also attended the teachers training intensive summer school with the School of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. A passionate and dedicated teacher.

Instructor: Melissa Foesier, Assistant Artistic Director of THE DANCE PLACE has been teaching Ballet, Jazz and has been performing since the age of 18 years, continuing her studies throughout Canada, the U.S. and England including Jacob's Pillow and I.S.T.D. seminars in London. A graduate of the National Ballet School’s Teacher’s Training Program, Melissa has achieved her Cecchetti Advanced and Licentiate certificates. A former member of the teaching faculty of the Quinte Dance Centre a professional training school in Bellville from 1989 to 1993. She has also choreographed orginal works for Caravan's (French pavilion), an award winning production of Mame, Bye Bye Birdie for the Etobicoke Musical Theatre Society, and A Chorus Line for Applause Applause Productions. Melissa has also received several choreographic awards from Dance America-DanceOlympus, Can-Dance and has been guest adjudicator at the prestigious B.C Jazz Competition, The Alberta Dance Festival, various Kiwanis Festivals, Footloose Dance Championships in Canada and the U.S. Melissa received her early training from her father (Jacque Foesier) in Ballet, from Maxine Heppner in Modern Dance and in Tap and Jazz from Lea Jago, Dot Blakely, Kel Soloway, Patty James and Vince Parrell. Melissa is approved to teach the specialized Junior Dancers program for ages 3 plus - 6 year olds, which is unique to The Dance Place.
