Julie DeAngelis DMA
Julie began music lessons at the age of four. She began dancing in elementary school and since then has never stopped. The dance disciplines she has studied include ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics, modern dance and pointe. For her high school career Julie attended Etobicoke School of the Arts, and majored in dance then later in musical theatre.
Julie spent a decade as a competitive dancer winning numerous first place and overall awards at national and international competitions. She has taught dance students at The Dance Place, at Sherway Academy of Music (Pop Chops), at Pizzaz n’ Jazz VIP Dance Studio, and at Maple Academy of Dance. She is certified to teach under Dance Masters of America, and CAN FIT PRO. Julie regularly performs lead roles in Joey and Gina’s Comedy Wedding, and dances in a dance troupe for corporate functions.
Julie’s additional credentials include a Diploma in Print and Broadcast Journalism With Honours from Humber College School of Media Studies. In her senior year of college Julie became a news reporter for Newstalk AM1010 CFRB in Toronto. Recently Julie attended the Yale University summer session and obtained a 4.0 GPA. Currently Julie is pursuing her degree in political science at the University of Toronto, as well as a certificate in Documentary Production at Humber College. Julie is a substitute teacher at THE DANCE PLACE. This due to a heavy workload she has accepted with the film industry and a family business.
